THE PEPSI SKYWRITER TEAM

SUZANNE ASBURY-OLIVER STEVE OLIVER
        SUZANNE ASBURY-OLIVER is a 40 year old, petite, brown-eyed
blonde who began flying gliders at age 14 while attending high school
near Portland, Oregon. At 15 she soloed a sailplane, at 17 soloed a
power plane, and at 18 earned her commercial pilot license and was
certified as an instructor; she also holds an Airline Transport Pilot
rating. She has logged over 6000 flying hours in the past 25 years,
and her most enjoyable flying hours have been spent in the 1929 open
cockpit Travel Air Pepsi Skywriter biplane.

"I fell in love with the flying," says Asbury-Oliver. "Most
pilots stare out at the sky through two layers of dirty plexiglass.
But in the open cockpit plane, there is just the sky, the wind, the
cold, the ground, and me."

She is the nation's only female professional skywriter, and
her aerial artistry -- painted on a canvas some 10,000 feet in the air --
dazzles many. Millions have met Suzanne through national media
attention such as the Today Show, Hour Magazine, US, People Magazine,
Inside Edition, Eye Witness Video, Real TV, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood,
Speed Vision, hundreds of local TV news stories and newspapers
including front page coverage on the Wall Street Journal.

It's all in a day's work to Suzanne Asbury-Oliver. "Skywriting
is very much like a dance routine", says Asbury-Oliver, "I count off
seconds just like a dancer would count off steps. Everything is
choreographed. Timing is essential. Lose count, no matter what the
distraction, and you count on failing at skywriting."

Steve Oliver met Suzanne Asbury in 1981 at the Kentucky
Derby where she was skywriting for a local Pepsi-Cola bottler and he
was pulling advertising banners with his 1941 Stearman biplane. It was
love at first flight! They were married in 1982 and are still on an
extended honeymoon as the Pepsi Aerial Entertainers.

Steve also began his flying career as a teenager and has
logged more than 12,000 flight hours in everything from helicopters to
sailplanes to biplanes. He holds commercial, instructor, and Airline
Transport Pilot ratings, plus an airframe and Power Plant Mechanics's
license, but vintage aircraft are his first love. Dear to his heart
are the vivid boyhood memories of seeing the Pepsi Skywriter perform.

"The first time I got into the Pepsi biplane, I had a strange
feeling, just knowing that this plane was the same one I had seen more
than 30 years ago," Steve says. "It's like a dream come true: flying
the plane I love, with the woman I love."
