Miss Jane Newcomb, now Mrs. Hooker, who began playing the
organ when she was little more than a child, left Corinth in 1900
to make here home in Boston. The Methodists had depended on her
to play the organ and to direct the church music for a long time.
There was genuine regret caused by her moving away from Corinth.
Fortunately, a Methodist family came to Corinth that year-- Mr.
and Mrs. J.O.Gaither and their son Rice. Mrs. Gaither was a
talented musician and agreed to be organist. She filled this
position faithfully and well during her stay in Corinth. [p.123]

As previously stated, Mrs. J.O.Gaither became organist when
Mrs. Hooker moved to Boston in 1900. Mrs. Gaither was followed
by Mrs. A.I. Ellis as organist. Mrs. Ellis was daughter of the
late Rev. Thomas Cameron; she was a splendid musician....[p.144]
