        During his career, Roscoe Turner took along many flight covers
for stamp collectors on his record setting flights.  Most of these
covers were autographed in green ink from a special pen he carried for
signing autographs.  When asked by his many fans why he used the green
ink, his reply was that all the other pilots were "green with envy."

       At the 10th annual Roscoe Turner Hot Air Balloon Race held in
Corinth, Mississippi, on August 18-20, 1995, a special commemorative
postmark was applied with a similar green ink to mail at the event.

       Special canceled cachet souvenir covers were available at the
race and included a biographical insert card and souvenir ticket to
the event.  The covers were flown during the race and bear a
commemorative backstamp from Eddie LaFavour, the balloon pilot founder
of the race.
